Introduction to Power Yoga

Power Yoga. Although you have never heard of it, odds are it’s affecting the way you think about and practice yoga. Why? Because it’s popular and athletic—the very definition of recent yoga. It’s worth understanding Power Yoga because although it’s one among the foremost prolific sorts of yoga within the U.S., it is often difficult to define and has more names than someone running from the law.

“True yoga isn’t about the form of your body, but the form of your life. Yoga isn’t to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you’ve got; yoga cares about the person you’re becoming. Yoga is meant for a huge and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied”.

What is Power Yoga? & Where it comes from?

Power yoga isn’t a politician sort of yoga, the term is usually used interchangeably with Vinyasa(practice with a topic or purposes consisting of poses linked and associated together). It’s probably more accurate to mention that power yoga may be a sort of Vinyasa, which has its roots in Ashtanga yoga, a longtime practice that began within the early 20th century.

With power yoga, the stress is on to be due to one pose to subsequent, instead of approaching each pose separately. The poses aren’t disconnected from one another, unlike other sorts of yoga.

No matter what you call it, power yoga could also be a fast-paced and intense activity. you progress from one posture to a different rapidly, linking your breathing to the various motions of your body.

A power yoga class could seem more like an aerobics class than a relaxed, mindful yoga experience. Though it requires mindfulness and specialization in your breathing, power yoga is more dynamic than meditative.

“That’s exactly how it is in yoga. The places where you’ve got the foremost resistance are literally the places that are getting to be the areas of the best liberation.” — Rodney Yee
